Sodium petroleum sulphonate is a brown to black viscous liquid or solid. It is a mixture of various sulphonate salts derived from petroleum. Generally considered low hazard, but concentrated forms may cause skin irritation. It is used metal, detergents, emulsifiers, wetting agents.

Non-dangerous substance which does not cause skin irritation or any side effect with inhalation, however may cause mild irritation if in direct contact with eyes. Store at ambient temperature or with lowest necessary heating as required for ease of handling.
