Ammonium dichromate is an inorganic compound with the formula (NH4)2Cr2O7. In this compound, as in all chromates and dichromates, chromium is in a +6 oxidation state, commonly known as hexavalent chromium. It is a salt consisting of ammonium ions and dichromate ions.

Additional information

Not dangerous for the environment but its harmful if swallowed, may cause sensitiation by skin contact & is very toxic to aquatic life. Therfore, keep away from eye & skin contact, and place in closed containers which are sealed very tightly in a cool, dry place. Keep away from food. If contacted, wash thoroughly.
